Refreshed NPTC website

We confirmed in the later part of 2024 that rather than the complete site rebuild that was originally proposed, we would refresh the site on its existing platform with a more user-focused, modern design and improved navigation.

These improvements will ensure a new look and feel, improved SEO rankings and accessibility for the site.

History

The NPTC website is one of the oldest in our portfolio and it shows. While it’s served its purpose over the years, the design and functionality have lagged behind modern standards.

Why We Updated It

The site hadn’t seen substantial development in over 15 years. As a result:

  • The design was outdated
  • It wasn’t responsive on mobile or tablet devices
  • It lacked flexibility and modern features
  • Was not aligned with our brand
  • Had poor accessibility and UX standards

Timeline

In 2023, the Web Team under M&CI officially took ownership of the NPTC website. We saw an opportunity to not only improve this site, but to use it as a flagship for a new design example that could be rolled out across other websites.

In 2024, Wholegrain helped conduct the research and gathered customer feedback, in order to bring the site closer to our overall organisational look and feel. This research was invaluable to get the project started.

In 2025, we began working with Acumen Systems to develop the new webpages. This work was a collaboration with various stakeholders and content experts.

What’s New

The refreshed NPTC website introduces a host of improvements and a complete makeover:

  • Wide top banners on every parent page
  • Redesigned parent and child pages that better align with modern templates
  • Improved content structure using rows to reduce white space
  • Updated imagery to reflect current branding and tone
  • New IA using feedback provided by customers to improve CX
  • Improved content now refreshed and up to date

What’s Next

This refresh is just the beginning. We’ll continue to monitor feedback, refine the design, and apply lessons learned to future projects. The NPTC site now sets a new standard going forward and opens the stage for even further website development.

A special thanks to Creative Services, Technology, Customer Insights, Marketing and all Land-based stakeholders for making this a reality – we could not have done it without your expertise!
