Certificates of Competence are a  range of qualifications that are easy to access and  practically assessed. 
  
The training can be gained  from industry experience (on the job training), a short training course or as part of a college course. 

The qualifications  are  used to supplement college courses, work based learning or as stand alone qualifications for those already in employment.
