Livestock
Our livestock qualifications have a strong emphasis on animal welfare and incorporate the “Five Freedoms” as defined by the Farm Animal Welfare Council where appropriate.
The ‘Five Freedoms’ define ideal states, but provide a comprehensive framework for animal welfare .
They are:
• Freedom from fear and distress
• Freedom from pain, injury and disease
• Freedom from hunger and thirst
• Freedom from discomfort
• Freedom to express normal behaviour
We offer a range of qualifications covering legislative and non legislative requirements to meet the needs of good livestock husbandry.
